Case Study – Saving Our Customers Energy and Money

At Geisel, not only do we like helping our customers enjoy more comfortable lives – we also enjoy saving them energy and money! We recently had a unique situation on a home renovation project to do just that.

We completed a whole home renovation project featuring an Energy Star combination space heating and water heating system.  Geisel removed the forced warm air furnace and associated ductwork located in the basement. With a low basement ceiling, the owner wanted to remove all piping and ductwork to allow for a full and open basement.

We installed a new combination hot water boiler and water heater from Bradford White. This system tucked into the corner of the basement allowing the rest of the basement to be wide open. The system provides all the water for showering and daily use AND all the hot water to heat the home. The owner installed new Runtal wall panel radiators to provide quiet warmth to the living spaces. 

The system also features wireless thermostats to allow control from anywhere. With three zones of control using the Taco variable speed zone pumps, operating costs are projected at $41 per month for this 1800 square foot home!
